Lichen Sclerosus : : Aloe Vera Gel On My Vulva Helped

I suffer from VLS and OLP.After washing morning and night I use pure aloe vera gel on my vulva which may sting a little but really soothes. After half hour I use aqueous cream to moisturise. When I have sore burning tongue or mouth ulcers I use pure aloe vera gel in my mouth. It really heals. What about the emotional aspect associated with this disease. I find I suffer from lowered feelings as I feel unable to cope with the physical pain and daily maintenance. I have great difficulty accepting that my own body is attacking itself and I have no control over it.I have great difficulty trying to sleep and am obsessed with the condition as the raw pain never eases and I know it will never get better. My dermatologist suggested anti-depressants but I disagree as my lowered feelings are caused by the presence of the disease and there is no cure for this. I read “the power of now” which helps me to live in the moment.I would call on the women/men who have had this condition for numerous years to post and give those newly diagnosed some hope that there will be life after tomorrow.

I had was diagnised with severe ulcerative colitis and given steriods which I refused to take, held out and had acupuncuture reflexology each week, started on Tumeric and aloe vera juice everyday, along with higbee propolis bee pollen, echinacea etc, it cleared up, still take the aloe juice and recently had a flare up, jjust the start of bleeding etc, and immediatly reverted back to tumeric, etc, as above cleared up, without doctors orders.

How exactly did you use the turmeric? What was the combination that worked best for you? Do you take the aloe vera juice and turmeric everyday?

I have UC and just started to use aloe vera juice but I would like to know how much tumeric to use in the aloe vera juice, as I want to try this remedy. Bob, age 63.

How much turmeric would you advise using? I’m at the start of a flare up, and would love to avoid going back on steroids.

Using chemical drugs for a long time can harm our overall health or cause a new problem. So good to balance it with natural remedy. But before trying any herbs, pls search enough information about the herbs or consult with herbalist/naturopath/dietician. As herbs can be strong enough or interfere with drugs. Turmeric has many benefits for health including cure for cancer, but search what the right dose is, don’t overdose.

Brad, please let me know if this remedy helps – I know it was a lifesaver for me – Cindy

thanks, Dennis

5 Benefits of Aloe Vera Juice in Ulcerative Colitis

If you think about it, breakfast is the easiest meal to prepare yourself. You are typically home in the morning or can make something to take with you. I think it is so beneficial to start your day with a grounding, home-cooked meal. Not to say I dont ever go out to brunch, but I think I make a pretty mean bowl of porridge in my very own kitchen. The last thing I want is a hard crash midway through my day, something I have experienced with eating breakfast out. Continue reading

Get Regular Exercise To Reduce Uc Inflammation

Snider says exercise is useful in managing many of the complications associated with ulcerative colitis, including decreased bone density, a weakened immune system, emotional health problems, stress, and weight gain.

“Try to engage in a moderate-intensity exercise like swimming or biking, three or four days per week,” he says. A review published in August 2016 in Pharmacological Reports noted that moderate exercise releases protective myokines such as irisin from working skeletal muscles, which promotes healing and helps with inflammatory bowel disease inflammation.

Snider also strongly recommends yoga as a natural treatment for ulcerative colitis, as it promotes relaxation and targets the digestive system, flooding the area with oxygen and nutrition for healing. Find what type and frequency of exercise works for you and take it slow: Too much exercise can cause mild systemic inflammation.

Research indicates that stress plays a role in inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis. Researchers analyzed data on 2,007 adults in a Swiss IBD study and found a relationship between depression and anxiety and disease symptoms. The results were published in June 2016 in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

How Aloe Is Used

Aloe is a known anti-inflammatory and may even have antibacterial and antifungal properties. The gel from the aloe plant is often used topically on dry, broken, or burned skin as a soothing agent and a pain reliever. In animals, aloe gel has been shown to reduce inflammation.

In one study on the use of aloe in ulcerative colitis, ingested aloe gel was shown to be better than placebo in reducing disease activity. However, that study was small , and there have not been any others that showed the same results.

Because of these limitations, experts conclude that there is not enough evidence to recommend the widespread use of aloe for treating either ulcerative colitis or the other major form of inflammatory bowel disease , Crohn’s disease.

Aloe latex is a powerful laxative, and should not be used by people who have hemorrhoids, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulosis, intestinal blockages, or other gastrointestinal conditions. It is not often used as a laxative because it may cause painful abdominal cramps.

    Aloe Vera For Your Insides

Aloe vera is an ancient folk remedy that, unlike many such natural cures, has always remained known to mainstream cultures. It has been used medicinally by many cultures. Egyptian, European, Indian, and Chinese people have used aloe for over five thousand years. You have probably resorted to a sticky, green aloe vera gel after a sunburn. Maybe you have even been lucky enough to split open a blade of this succulent and rubbed its wet insides onto your skin. However, the benefits of taking aloe vera internally were not so well known for a long while.

Aloe vera may be as soothing to your insides as it is to your outsides. Scientists at the Centre for Gastroenterology, Institute of Cellular and Molecular Science at Barts Hospital worked with researchers at other centres. Jointly, they looked at the effects of aloe on irritable bowel syndrome . They found that, taken internally, aloe reduced the histological disease activity. This means that they reduced IBS activity on the level that can be seen through a microscope. Patients also reported less discomfort. Further research is necessary before solid claims can be made. However, the refreshing feeling that aloe vera gives us when we drink it feels wonderful in every part of our body.

We know what we will look to when, in the depths of the British winter, we long for some colour and freshness. Plus, the granola we use has chocolate in it. Does it get much better. or does it?
