How to Create a Bentonite Clay Shake for Crohns and Colitis

There are so called food grade versions, but that label doesnt mean the clay is safe to eat. This substance is addressed by the FDA in Section 184.1155 of Title 21.

The affirmation of this ingredient as generally recognized as safe as a direct human food ingredient is based upon the following current good manufacturing practice conditions of use:

The ingredient is used as a processing aid as defined in 170.3 of this chapter.

The ingredient is used in food at levels not to exceed current good manufacturing practice. Current good manufacturing practice results in no significant residue in foods.

The last part was bolded by us. Why would they allow for its use and at the same time, require no significant residue of it?

Because its GRAS for food packaging, not eating!

Clay is GRAS only as an ingredient of paperboard products used in food packaging.

There isnt concrete data available concerning the amounts of clay that might migrate to foods from this source, but the Select Committee believes them to be very small.

They list uses like juice/beverage clarification and as a coating for food packaging. In other words, only things which come in contact with what you eat or drink.

In support of its safety for those purposes, they do layout some interesting facts about bentonite clay :

When you see the phrase food grade that does not mean it has been tested or approved for consumption by a government agency.

It Is Also Said That Clay Is Effective Against The Cold And Flu

Considering that the common cold and flu are both caused by viruses, which are positively charged, it makes sense that clay would bind to these and flush them from the system.

People with irritable bowel syndrome, Crohns disease, and ulcerative colitis have also reported improved symptoms after taking the clay. Because the clay removed harmful toxins, particularly yeast and bad bacteria, it is extremely helpful for those suffering from gastrointestinal disorders. If you suffer from any of these disorders, its wise to take a probiotic while taking the clay. This will help repopulate the gut with good bacteria.

Clay Is Also Great For External Uses

For example, when a mask is applied to the face, it draws out the impurities in the pores. It can be mixed with water and applied to an insect bite, to draw out the venom. It can even be used to dental issues, like gingivitis or infections. When mixed with water and gargled for about ten minutes per day, it draws out the infection. Clay is also said to be helpful with ulcers.

Not all clay is created equal. Make sure youre buying a good brand that is safe to take internally. I use this brandon my skin and in detox baths. Redmond Clayand Yerba Prima are two companies I trust and Ive successfully used their clay internally.

Bentonite Clay Use Caused Severe Itching

I did a calcium bentonite green clay foot bath detox 5 nights ago. A few hours later my back was itching all over. By the following morning I had severe itching in my back, breasts, arms, stomach, and thighs.

After a full day of the itching I began taking black walnut as a precaution in the event the itching was caused by parasites . About 80% of the itching went away, but is now lingering in my breast lymph areas and my lower back. The more I walk around the more intense the itching gets.

I’m not sure if 1) the clay contained alumininum causing a toxic reaction, or 2) if I now have dead/live parasites trapped in those areas of my body, thus causing the itching.

I’ve drank plenty of water, went for brisk walks, took hot showers, increased my garlic, onion, spinach, and cabbage intake. I’ve taken the detox teas and ginger, whole food supplements, apple cider vinegar, flaxseed still I itch.

The only other thing I can think of that I did differently that day was ate red Thai rice for the first time.
